“Kia Auaha” explores the journey from whakaaro to reality. Every creation begins as something unseen. A spark of inspiration enters the mind and gradually develops into something that can be shared, experienced, or brought to life. This work acknowledges that creative process and recognises the courage it takes to give form to an idea that exists only in imagination.
The flowing forms within the composition suggest movement and transformation, reflecting the way ideas evolve over time. Sometimes creativity arrives in a moment of inspiration. At other times it emerges through patience, reflection, and a willingness to keep exploring. The work speaks to the nature of auahatanga as an act of bringing something new into the world. It celebrates the ability to envision what could be, and through skill, intention, and determination, transform that vision into something tangible that can leave a lasting impression.
